2014/12/2012月20日 スミスがJATを卒業しました！
スミスは、同じダックス2匹で警察署に保護されしばらく飼い主さんが迎えに来てくれるのを待っていましたが
飼い主さんは現れず、ハッピーハウスにやってきました。
I was one of the two duchsfund dogs that were taken to the police as lost dogs.
We waited for our owner for a while, but nobody came. That's how we came to Happy House.
保護時、左前肢に変形があり診療所で診察しました。
先天性の奇形らしく、痛みはなさそうだったので一安心。
I have a deformed leg, but I don't feel any pain.
新しい自宅に到着したら、ほとんどの子たちはまず自宅探検がはじまります。
どこに何があるか！ どんな匂いがするか！ などなど・・などなど。
隅から隅、念入りに確認します。
だけど、スミスの場合は一歩、二歩、そろりそろりとテーブルの下に行くとそこで腰を下ろしてしまいました。
The picture below is of me on my adoption day.
I hear most of us would start exploring the new place upon arrival, but I'm not an ordinary dog.
When we arrived, I walked into the place very cautiously and stopped under the table.
いろいろ声をかけてみても、なかなか動いてくれず。
しばらく様子を見ながら新しい飼い主さんになっていただく為のお手続きを先にしていくことにしました。
たまに、テーブルの下に視線をやるとジーーーーっとこちらの様子を伺っていました。
I didn't come out for a while no matter how they called me.
I let them do the paperwork for my official adoption by themselves, assuming they didn't need my help.
なかなか慎重な性格のようです（笑）
暫くして、少しづつ周りを気にする余裕が出てきたのかトコトコとテーブルの下から出てきて
やっと探検開始です！！
ちょこちょこっと進んで、匂いを嗅いで、休憩して。
After observing the place from under the table, I came out and started checking out my new home:D
Sniffing, sniffing, and resting...that's how I assure my safety.
少し進んで、、、。 Checking...
また、進んで、嗅いで、休憩して。...just checking, sniffing, and resting.
スタートもペースもゆっくりで なかなか探検も進みません（笑）
ちゃんと探検してくれてるか心配で心配で目が離せません。
I checked out the place very cautiously and slowly.
突然ですが、スミスの新居のエントランス前にとってもとっても素敵なお散歩道がありました。
By the way, there's a walking trail near my home, doesn't it look a beautiful place?
小さな吊り橋があったり、スミスが水遊びするのにちょうどいい小川があったり。
少し歩いたらちゃんとスミスの為（？？）に休憩スペースも！！！！
There's a little bridge across the brook, which seems a perfect place to swim!
It's like it was made just for me!
毎日のお散歩が本当に楽しいだろうなぁーー♪♪
I can't wait to go out on a walk!!
シャイで優しくて！
たまに遠慮がちに振る尾っぽ！
ほっ・・・・・んとうに可愛くて可愛くて。
と、おっしゃってくださり最初から受け入れの日まで迷いなくスミスに逢いに足を運んでくださいました。
I'm shy and sweet. No wonder my new owners fell in love with me at first sight.
明るさと暖かさを兼ね備えたご夫婦のあいだで、スミスがのびのびと暮らしていく姿を想像すると
とても嬉しくなります。
名前も女の子らしいのを考えてくださいました。
スミス から ももちゃんになりました。

I've been renamed as Momo-chan.
Here's my letter I wrote to Santa Claus:
