2015/01/311月31日 まつりがＪＡＴを卒業しました！
まつりは去年の10月に放浪していたところを保護されました。
しばらく飼い主さんを探しましたが現れず、、、。
Hi, I'm Matsuri, I was found roaming and taken to Happy House last October.
Nobody showed up to claim me...
とっても小ぶりで可愛らしく性格もいい子でした。
ハッピーハウスにやってきた子たちは必ず健康チェックを受けます。
今までの生活スタイルも病歴もわからないので隠れた病気がないか
痛がっているところはないか調べます。
まつりは側腹部にシコリがあるのが見つかりフィラリアにも感染していました。
フィラリアはちゃんと予防さえすれば防げる病気なのに・・・。
Every animal taken in to Happy House has a medical check-up to determine if it has an infectious disease or any pain, and I was found to have a heartworm infection and a lump in the flank...
しこりは手術で取ることができ、
詳しく検査いました幸い悪性ではなかったので
少し「ほっ・・・。」
しかしフィラリアについては、すぐに治療できるものではなく
これから数年間かけて様子をみなくてはなりません。
They could remove the lump in an operation, but the heartworm infection cannot be healed that easy, and we need to wait and see...
そんな「いろいろ」をすべて受け止めてくださり
一か月のトライアル期間を経て
「是非家族に！」とおっしゃってくださったご家族がいました。
「動物にとって一番いい環境で暮らしたい」
そう思って今のご自宅に引っ越してこられたそうです。
Despite my condition, this family I met has decided to adopt me after one-month trial period!!
They live in an animal-friendly environment, and already have some cats.
さあ！！先輩猫さんの面接を受けるためにトライアル開始です！！
"I'm ready to have an interview with their existing cats!!"
送迎時に乗った車もへっちゃらで、心なしか楽しそうに見えました。
途中でちょっとトイレ休憩。
"I'm excited to be rehomed!!"
「ごめんあそばせ・・・・・」
とにかく第一印象が大切なので昨日は念入りにシャンプーをしてもらいました。
フフフ。
To make a good first impression, I had my hair shampooed and groomed the day before.
にゃんこ先輩に気に入られるように頑張りまーーーす♪♪
"I'm sure the cats will love me;)"
今日からまつりはこの町で生活していくのです。
駐車場までお母さんがお迎えに来てくれました、お家までプチ散歩♪
My first walk with Mom in the neighborhood.
玄関までの階段も上手に、軽快に、あがれます。
"I can walk up the steps, no worry!"
腰の毛は手術の時に刈られてしまったの、、、（涙）
I had my hair remoed around the tummy in the operation...
お部屋に入って、いきなりにゃんこ姉さん。
"Hi, nice to meet you!"
「は、は、はじめまして。」
"G...good afternoon! I'm Matsuri, I'm so glad to join the family!"
「きょ、きょうからお世話になります 。ま、まつりっていいます」
緊張しながらも、ちゃんとご挨拶できました^^
Yes, I was a bit nervous, but she accepted me:D
リビングには大きなテレビがあって。
「うわ～～～～～！！ なんだ？？ これ？？」
興味深々！！ テレビにかじりついてました。
"Oh my God!! People in a box! What is this thing?!"
一か月が経ち、本日は正式に里親さんになって頂くために
お手続きに参りました。
玄関までお出迎えしてくれたものの、さほど歓迎してくれる様子もなく
すぐにクッションの上でまったり。
ふかふかクッションは大のお気に入りだそうです。
The shelter staff came to see me and to do some paper work for my adoption.
I greeted her, and went back to my favorite cushion.
この一か月間の様子をいろいろお話いただきました。
「ホントにまつりはお利口ですよ～～、もうおトイレも完璧だし」 とお母さん。
そんな話をしていたら、なんだかソワソワ・・。 トイレの方へ・・・。
「あ〃～～～～」とお母さん。
「ちゃんとできる所を見せたくて、前に出すぎちゃいました、、、、。」とまつり。
Mom: Matsuri is really smart, and totally house-broken.
Matsuri: Oh! They are talking about me! I should show them how I can use the toilet! Oops...missed it...
残念！！
良いとこ見せようとしたのにね（笑）
さて、ここのお宅の何が凄いって。とにかくいろんな物がいろいろと手作りされていました。
それが全てネコさんや犬さんが快適に暮らせるように工夫されているんです。
My family is really meticulous about how we the pets can live comfortably.
For example, this is the cat house, where they can sleep quietly. It's warm inside.
ここは猫さんのペントハウス。
中はぬくぬくです。
植木鉢ホルダーに角度をつけて水も飲みやすく！！
And the water holder keeps the water bowl at the best angle for us.

特に寒がりの子たちの為にこんな工夫も！！
The warming spot for those sensitive to cold.
ここは先代のワンコさんの為に押入れをリホームして作った介護ルーム！
Nursing space for aging animals.
なんと、この中床暖房なんです。！！！！！
The space has a heating floor system!!
ス・ゴ・ス・ギ！！
まだまだたくさん紹介しきれないぐらいの手作りグッズがありましたが
私的に嬉しかったのは、里親手続の時に頂いた手作りケーキです（笑）
There are many many other things that are customized for us!
とっても美味しかったです（＾＾） ご馳走さまでした♪♪
And they served tea and handmade cake for the staff.
My family is nice to animals AND people;)
ひと月のトライアルですっかりお家の猫さん達とも上手く付き合えるようになっていました。
自分の居場所・・・。
It's been a month since I started living here, and now I’m on good terms with the cats.
先輩の居場所・・・。
"She likes to sleep on the toaster."
お父さんのお気に入りの場所も、お母さんのお気に入りの場所も、
「わたし、ちゃーーーーんとしってるよ！！」
「だって、かぞくなんだもん！！」 とまつり。
"Now I know where Dad or Mom likes to relax because I'm their family, I know everybody's favorite places!"
いろんな事情でハッピーハウスにやってくる子たち。
皆が、幸せになっていく仲間に続けと頑張っています。
だから、皆のお手本になるように幸せになります。
手続きを終えたら、みんな急に「〇〇さんちの子」らしくなっちゃうんです。
不思議なくらい・・・。
There are still many, many animals at the shelter, looking for a family.
I've been there, and I feel blessed to have found home and hope that they all find their own, too.
I've gained a sense of belonging after Mom signed the adoption agreement.
そしてこの瞬間がたまらなく嬉しくて。
たくさん、たくさんの幸せをこれから感じて行ってね。
名前が まつり から さくら になりました。
I couldn't be happier.
They gave me a new name, Sakura.
